Aloha, I’m Justine — founder of Kapua Co, born and rooted on Maui, Hawaiʻi.

Kapua Co was not created in an easy season.

There was a chapter in my life where everything felt uncertain — where I was learning to rebuild not just a business, but myself. What the world sees today as a brand began quietly… in prayer, in late nights after my daughter fell asleep, in moments where I had to decide whether I would shrink or rise.

I chose to rise.

The name Kapua means “the flower.” And flowers do not bloom because conditions are perfect — they bloom because it is in their nature to grow toward the light.

My daughter is the heartbeat behind Kapua Co. She is my reminder that legacy is not about ease — it is about courage. It is about showing our children what strength looks like when no one is clapping. It is about building something rooted in love so deeply that even when the wind shifts, it does not uproot you.

Every collection I design carries intention. Every print tells a story. Every stitch reflects island life — family-centered, faith-led, grounded in aloha. This brand is inspired by generational love, by strong women before me, and by the responsibility I feel to leave something meaningful behind for the next generation.
